The Team The StemExpress Business Development team is driven to translate business goals into StemExpress deliverables. The team excels at client relationships along with product and service solutions, to support researchers around the world. The Role: Duties and Essential Job Functions To be successful the Sales Associate will: Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails Understand customer needs and requirements Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate Regional Sales Representative for further development and closure Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest Maintain and update CRM with prospects and activity within assigned territory Act as the main support for the assigned territory including supporting Regional Sales Representatives by coordinating communication with clients Answer incoming sales and sales support calls, provide assistance and address initial client's inquiries about available products and services Review purchase orders from assigned regional territory to ensure accuracy Communicate confidently to internal and external stakeholders when providing high level scientific information on StemExpress products and services Create, edit, and review quotations for clients, review pending orders and address specific customer requests to ensure excellent customer service Ensure requests are addressed promptly and partner clients have accurate delivery expectations Monitor the customer relationship management software (CRM) for accuracy including account details, and sales history data. Maintain a list of pending shipments, investigate and resolve shipping delays, and communicate to clients or StemExpress team members promptly when there are shipping delays Handle client complaints and works with sales leadership to develop solutions Oversee inventory management of sales material and trade show materials with support from Marketing Engage in basic market research on pricing, services, and product throughout the industry to support the alignment of future product marketing and development Organize, maintain and prepare data for leadership team and sales department upon request Additional duties as assigned Reporting Relationships This position will report to the Sales Manager and have no supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biology or other life science field or relevant knowledge of cellular biology Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders with varying levels of verbal communication 1-3 years of previous experience delivering excellent customer service or 1 year previous sales support experience Ability to collaborate well with others and proactively consult with other key stakeholders Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Proactive attitude and ability to prioritize competing tasks Able to maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential Ability to use CRM software Desire to transition to outside sales as a long-term career goal Preferred Qualifications 1-3 years of internal or outside sales background 1-3 years of experience working in a biological laboratory Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM or Sage X3 ERP software
