Information Security Analyst I, II and III - City of Philadelphia Residency Requirement + Participate in all areas within PGW for information security related projects conferring as required with management, development personnel, risk assessment staff, auditors, lawyers, facilities, other security departments and other relevant personnel to identify and verify implementation of security policies for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications and computer installations. + Plan, coordinate and analyze new and existing security policies, procedures and infrastructure designs/techniques to meet current and future needs. + Analyze the information environment and development of security measures to safeguard information against accidental, deliberate or unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure. + Consult with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business information security needs, objectives, procedures and problems while ensuring compliance with information security policies. + Review contracts for security related issues and follows up with vendors for issue resolution as part of the negotiation process. + Perform security accreditation functions for internal customers who deserve recognition for information security policy compliance. + Provide technical leadership in investigations for external incidents or intrusions as well as internal incidents such as inappropriate use of company systems, networks and tools. + Design and conduct general security education and awareness programs through appropriate user groups, societies, and college or university classes. + Research and investigate current security industry direction and trends as they apply to PGW. + Review and where appropriate develop and/or update security policies for platforms, usage and general infrastructure. + Provide general security support and training to employees and consultants. + Perform security audit, risk management analysis and evaluation on production networks and data on a regularly basis. + Work to continually develop and improve security processes, methodologies and approaches. + Design, develop and manage effective metrics. + Coordinate with external auditors to assure effective security protocols are in place and operational. + Plan and oversee day-to-day activities of Information Security Analysts. + Out of hours and on-call obligations are to be anticipated in normal operations. Other duties as specified by the Director, Information Controls and Compliance. + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area of study, or demonstrated equivalent work experience required. + Excellent knowledge and experience in the IT field. + Excellent background in all facets of Information Security through experience and/or specialized training. + CISSP and / or CCSP certification preferred with at least 3 years experience in the Information Security industry. + Proficiency in Information Security and Control tools such as Firewall, SIEM, IPS, Endpoint Security and etc.. + Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations. + Adequate knowledge of Linux and Windows servers. + Experiences in using a commercial or open source network vulnerability scanner preferred. + Strong knowledge and practical experience in securing web based applications, wireless network, cloud solutions and VoIP. + Effectiveness in all aspects of the core business skills: analysis, communication, writing and negotiation. + Excellent team-oriented interpersonal skills to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. + Strong training skills. + Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs. + Proven ability to work under stress or in emergencies. + Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding. Residency Requirement : All employees of the Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) must live in the City of Philadelphia for the duration of their employment. If a candidate does not live in the City of Philadelphia at the time of hire, he/she must move into the city within twelve (12) months of his/her hire date.
