GAF is looking for an Intern- Sales, Use, and Property Tax to join the Tax team. Responsibilities for this position will include, but not be limited to:
o Assist Tax Manager in filing returns for entire GAF group.
o Assist Senior Manager in reconciling Sales/Use, Sales/Use reserve and GST/HST general ledger accrual balances to tax filings on a monthly basis.
o Assist Senior Manager in reconciling real and personal property general ledger accrual balances to tax filings on a monthly basis.
o Assist Senior Manager in responding to all sales and use, real and personal property tax, and 1099 notices.
o Assist Tax Manager loading all documents to AO Docs
o Assist Senior Manager in providing necessary audit documentation for various on-going sales and use tax audits.
o General tax assistance as needed by tax department.
Verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly to accounting department, and various other GAF departments.
Analytical and accounting skills necessary to perform all tax account analysis.
Required Education: The successful candidate must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2018 and May 2020.
Candidate should be a College Sophomore or Junior. Candidate should be an Accounting major who has completed Financial and Managerial Accounting and maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Experience includes; proficiency in Excel, knowledge of general accounting, and strong analytical skills.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, without visa sponsorship.
All GAF internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however, there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 20 hours per week over the spring semester. We are targeting currently enrolled college students who will be staying in the NJ/NY metro area for the duration of the internship and be able to commute to our World Headquarters in Parsippany, NJ. Housing, transportation, F-1 and HB-1 visa sponsorship will not be provided in association with these positions.
