HOME DEPARTMENT HEAD (KEY CARRYING) JOB DESCRIPTION (NON-EXEMPT)
The Home Department Head is a non-exempt position responsible for driving sales in the Furniture departments by providing excellent customer service and maintaining visual standards and in-stock position. The Home Department Head is also responsible for a variety of duties including cashiering, merchandising, stocking, and maintaining visual standards as directed by store management.
HOME DEPARTMENT HEAD (KEY CARRYING) JOB DESCRIPTION (NON-EXEMPT)
The Home Department Head is a non-exempt position responsible for driving sales in the Furniture departments by providing excellent customer service and maintaining visual standards and in-stock position. The Home Department Head is also responsible for a variety of duties including cashiering, merchandising, stocking, and maintaining visual standards as directed by store management.
**Home DH Departments generally include: Dining (includes Home Office), Living, and Outdoor furniture.
THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES OF THE HOME DEPARTMENT HEAD INCLUDE:
* Assisting customers utilizing World Market service standards and representing the World Market brand.
* Acting as a role model in the store as it relates to service leadership and execution of Company programs.
* Carrying store keys and assuming 'Manager-on-Duty' and service leadership roles during the absence of management (as required by business needs.)
* Training the entire store staff on the product and flow of the departments under their responsibility.
* Ensuring merchandise is stocked according to visual standards, direction and schematics while maintaining productivity and pricing standards.
* Validating in-stock positions and supporting the execution of all signage and merchandising to support department promo activity.
* Maintaining the sales floor organization and standards to company guidelines.
* Housekeeping as identified within the Furniture Departments, or as otherwise directed by management.
* Managing the Furniture Departments' sales performance and inventory through the validation and execution of the following programs and procedures: Customer Orders, Weekly Sales Reports (SHARP, Top Sellers, etc.), Furniture Parts Procurement (BOLT), all other store Inventory Management functions (cycle counts, stock ledgers, etc.).
* Adhering to all Company loss prevention and safety policies and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* 1+ years of supervisory experience in a retail or similar environment preferred, but not required
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule including a majority of weekend shifts.
* Excellent time management & organizational skills.
* Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
SERVICE LEADERSHIP ROLE
This is a 'Service Leadership Role' which carries the responsibilities involved in approving register transactions. This person assumes responsibilities of register procedures and approvals as well as oversees the store for short periods of time in the absence of the General Manager or Supervisors.
THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE 'SERVICE LEADERSHIP' DESIGNATION INCLUDES:
* Answering service calls requiring badge assistance at the registers.
* Assisting cashiers in providing service to customers at the front-end.
* Approving refunds, discounts, and other customer requests as outlined in store policies and procedures.
* Assuming the Front-End Manager role as designated by management. (This may include monitoring the daily break schedule, shopping cart retrieval, requesting additional cashiers, and service calls to ensure that all customers are being assisted as needed.)
* Assuming complete store responsibility during absences of the General Manager or Supervisors.
