Regional Sales Leader - Small Business Clients -


The Regional Sales Leader (RSL) Small Business Clients is a leader role in Small Business organization reporting to a Small Business Division Executive. The Regional Sales Leader is responsible for leading a team of outside Business Consultants (BC) that sell to small and medium sized businesses across a specific geographic area. This role is responsible for developing strategies to grow referrals and revenue, partnering with internal and external referral sources in the market, especially senior leaders within the Consumer channel and being a key leader for the company and brand in merchant services. The RSL must educate, influence and coach key partners regarding the value of merchant services, participate in joint calls with prospects and clients and coach sales representatives and conduct necessary reporting and analysis regarding their region to ensure appropriate resource alignment and meet key sales metrics.

Essential Functions

  • Provide a world class client experience.
  • Develop strategies, processes and plans that enable the team to help customers meet their business goals while achieving key performance metrics for merchant services.
  • Serve as an integral member of the One-Team management team.
  • Develop strong relationships with key bank partners, product and support partners, and other business partners as needed.
  • Work with partners and BCs in developing referrals and achieving partner goals.
  • Manage BCs performance within risk culture to drive sustainable growth by adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Lead use of the consultative sales model.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue achievement.
  • Responsible for selecting new team members, arranging appropriate training, managing performance, and identifying and addressing obstacles to ensure individual and team success.
  • Coach team members and partners to exceed performance expectations.
  • Leverage product and process knowledge to coach sales representatives and ensure best practices are shared across the team.
  • Manage and lead team using a consistent set of management routines to monitor and evaluate team performance against plan.

  • Bachelor s Degree or combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years experience managing a revenue generating team or 4 years as a top producing Business Consultant or a Team Lead of a revenue generating team
  • Ability to consistently drive differentiated performance results
  • Experience selling Merchant, Bankcard or Financial Services preferred


  • Deep understanding of sales applications such as and 1Star. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint. .

Physical Requirements

  • Works in varied environments involving sitting and standing. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, including as a driver or passenger in an automobile. Ability to utilize a laptop and telephone prolonged periods of time. Ability to visit and move around at client sites including the ability to maneuver in a variety of places. Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that may weigh up to 25 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 25 lbs.


  • Daily travel within territory is required to perform essential functions of the role. Out of town travel as required by territory. All RSL s will have 5% or less travel to attend meetings and trainings.

  • Responsible for supporting regulatory requirements under the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and other Anti-Money Laundering laws, rules, and regulations.
